Michael and I were pleasantly surprised to find out that a little video we had made last year for a Confirmation retreat was played on EWTN this past Thursday night. The video, Why am I Catholic?, was shown in its entirety on Life on the Rock. It was quite fitting that it aired on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on a show hosted by Franciscan Friars, because of all the saints whose images and icons are in the video, only St. Francis has two images (and that was not a coincidence! :) )
If you would like to watch the episode of Life on the Rock during which our video was played, click here. You’ll need RealPlayer to watch. The video closes the show, beginning around the 51 minute mark. Since we have received numerous requests from people interested in purchasing the video for parish and ministerial use, we recommended simply purchasing a copy of the October 4, 2007 Life on the Rock episode for $15.oo from EWTN.

Thumbs up !! Saw the video on You Tube…wonderful initiative.
Hey Katerina and Michael,
CONGRATS!!!
This is the Best video I have ever seen on Youtube, it really touched my heart because the message was very very powerful. A truth well said !!!
Made simple with clarity, it is a class above other stuff.
May you tribes increase, let us see many more stuff on social networking sites to speak the heart of Jesus ie. his body:The Holy Catholic Church, to the world. GBU
Victor the Catho-holic.
Thanks for making this video. It’s a great encouragement and reminder for all Catholics of what we believe and stand for, especially the number 1 reason, the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith. Peace and God Bless.
Norman
This is a beautiful video! EWTN has taken down this particular episode of “This Rock”.
If there is any other way to download this video, that would be awesome. Or even sell the video with proceeds going to charity.
Has Bishop Jenky seen this yet? I am guessing he has.
God Bless,
Rich
This is truly an inspired video. Is there a way it can be transferred to Bluefish TV at Godtube.com which apparently lets you download at a cost. Even if there is a fee to download it, I would be more than happy to pay for it. I have called EWTN and they no longer carry it.
God Bless you and thank you again for sharing this video with so many who are finding it as moving as I have.
Cindy
Thanks Cindy! Let me look into the Bluefish TV option and I’ll post something here on the blog if I’m able to get the video there. Well, I’m glad I got the DVD on time from EWTN, because as you and Rich have pointed out, they are not showing them anymore.
Cindy, I just looked at this and I don’t think there is a way to transfer it to Bluefish TV. Apparently Bluefish has a certain number of videos that they have available for download, but I don’t think users can upload their own videos. I don’t know the selection process for the videos they do have available.
Hi Katerina,
I love your videos and have watched them on YouTube.
We have an Catholic Internet ministry, http://www.LoveToBeCatholic.com. It is a Catholic alternative to YouTube and GodTube. I would be so grateful if you would consider sharing your videos with the Love To Be Catholic community.
God bless you.
Hi,
First, thank you very much for this video. Can you please tell me where you got the final picture of Pope John PaulII’s Crosier/Crucifix? I’m trying to find it to make a print out of it along with his quote, “Be not afraid” and have it framed to give to my girlfriend, who is a Catholic elementary school Principal.
Finding this picture is very important to me. Thanks for your help and God Bless!
Greg,
I made that picture with Photoshop. I can send it to you if you want me to. Go to my Youtube account and send me a message with your e-mail so I can e-mail it back to you.
Hi Katerina,
Did you get my messages at your YouTube account?
Greg
Greg, Yes I did. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to send it yet. I need to get a hold of my computer where I have the file. I’ll send it either today or tomorrow.
I really liked your video ” Why am I Catholic?” and linked to it in my blog. By the way, did you know that there is a new way to reach Catholics. It’s called “4 Marks”. It’s the Catholic equivalent of My Space or Facebook. Check it out. It would be a great way to get your videos and articles seen by more Catholics.
