This was posted a long time ago, however, I know the Doxology to the common Catholic grace and did not see it here. The prayer before meals prays for the living and the prayer after prays for the body of Christ departed.

Bless us oh Lord and these Your gifts, which we are about to receive, from Your bounty, through Christ our Lord, Amen.

May the Lord provide for the needs of others and always be our heavenly food, Amen.

After Meals:

We give You thanks, for all Your benefits, which we have received through Christ our Lord, Amen.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.

I am always surprised more people do not know the ending for the prayer before meals.

I hope you find this so long after the original post!

God Bless.

Thank you for the book review! I have been feeling the pull of the Holy Spirit to increase my spiritual reading, so I'm compiling a list. This is definitely going on it.

I appreciated this article very much, especially the quote from St. Justin Martyr, which is one of my favorites. The Church will always be called to evangelize, even if it is possible for God, without the mediation of the visible sacramental signs of the Church Christ founded, to save people in other cultures, geographically and linguistically alien to us, because the more people who participate fully in the Body of Christ, the more their prayers can help save those who are prevented from enjoying that level of participation through no fault of their own.

I suspect that their are Catholic truths that can be found in a stronger (probably distorted) emphasis in other religions, and some of them can be used to correct the distortions that our culture places on Catholic truths whose true meanings we are less familiar with than we may believe.

Katerina,

This is off-topic and I could not find an email address so I am asking here in the comment section.

In the comments of a Vox Nova post, you once made a list of your favorite fiction by South American authors. I was not able to find that post and I would appreciate it if you could email me , or re-list those recommendations here.

Thank you,

Dear friends,

Please, support me in prayers for an urgent, difficult intention:

For my complete reconciliation with my loved one, ex fiance NEBOJSA

That Nebojsa DOES NOT GET INVOLVED INTO ANY NEW RELATIONSHIP, but that THAT HE BE DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH ME AND start CALLING ME, APOLOGIZE, that God with His QUICKENING SPIRIT work out peace between us, LEAD OUR FURTHER COMMUNICATION AND GIVE US WISDOM IN BEHAVIOUR TO EACH OTHER, COMPLETE RECONCILIATION and NEW BEGINNING!

THAT GOD DESTROY ALL DEVILS AND WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST OUR RELATIONSHIP IN THE NAME OF JESUS ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, protect our love and future (that our relationship be stronger and successful one) and bring us to marriage as soon as possible!

God gives promises, and I know He is FAITHFUL!

I am sure when your prayers join mine will surely receive a miracle. I am praying with Faith and please help me in this.

Thank you very much. God bless you. I pray for you. Praise the Lord for He hear prayers and answer on it.

My first knowledge of Dorothy Day was a DVD I saw entitled "Entertaining Angels", a wonderful introduction to her life and work.
Incidentally, I came across your blog whilst doing a Google search for "gospel poverty" and now I'm inspired to read Fr. Dubay's book... thank you!!
